Iceland is thought to be probably one of the purest countries in the world, but does this clean three hundred thousond blonde haired nation accept the responsability of recycling?
The Icelandic nation has the highest standard of living in the world, they have hydro-electric power and they do not have worries about their tap water, some people even claim that today Iceland has nothing to worry about, exzept ofcourse a few small things.
First of all with the water level growing faster than sciantist at first thought, highschools around Switzerland are learning that the land of the midnight sun will sink within 5 years. Secondly the largest glacier in Europe which incidently is located in Iceland will probably melt in ten to twenty years and lastly this nation has very little interest in recycling.
The recycling wave has started in Iceland, slowly, but it has. The government has made it possible to have 2 kinds of litter bins, one for litter and another one for natural waste. Probably the most popular thing for sport teams and children is if you recycle bottles and take them to the recycling center you collect 10 p for a bottle.
However recycling is expensive. The goverment is not ready to spend too much money on it and the homes that want to have tha natural waste bins have to pay extra for it. I am not even sure that schools bother to recycle paper.
On the other hand recycling is something that the Icelandic government needs to spend more money on, it needs to find the cheapest and also the easiestway. As everybody knows the modern community is always in a hurry and has no time for spending too much of their valuble time on recycling.
In my opiniun, even though it is expensive, it takes time and the government is not making it easy for the Icelandic nation, the advantages that you get from recycling simply outweigh the disadvantages, living healthily is being healthy.
